The Tokyo 2027 Campaign
Supporting the We Run Foundation
On 7 March 2027, I will take the line at the 20th running of the Tokyo Marathon. I am devoting the next few months to my physical training, and to promoting the work of an organisation that I will support through those 42.4km.
Through Better In The Long Run, my marathon campaign directly supports the We Run Foundation, an Australian charity that empowers communities through running, health, wellness and sustainability.
The We Run Foundation have a holistic approach to their work, and are quietly supporting the Australian running community in a number of areas:
Advancing community runner access
Supporting youth development
Facilitating research into barriers to running participation, and
Promoting and partnering with sustainability organisations.
True endurance is about stewardship: honouring physical capability, protecting cognitive health, and building sustainable systems for the long run. Whilst I implement these practices in my training block, the We Run Foundation is executing this across the broader running community.
It is a privilege to partner with the We Run Foundation for Tokyo 2027. I hope that you will consider supporting them as well.
